HISTORIC PROVENANCE The Table Lamp Horus draws inspiration from a sculpture of the god Horus protecting King Nectanebo II. Part of the Egyptian Art collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the sculpture, dating to 360–343 BCE, speaks to the pharaoh’s deep—if not merging—connection to Horus, the falcon god of kingship.
